Batalha golf course where the green of the land meets the blue of the ocean, a historic landscape awaits you. This course, designed by Cameron Powell in 1986, offers 27 holes of golf laid out over 120 há, with its magnificent setting, nestling on the skirts of the surrounding hills and with sweeping views to the ocean – has large flowing greens, wide and generous fairways and sinuously contoured bunkers. It is difficult to select a best hole – they are all in some ways exceptional – but there is a very special sensation to be felt when standing on the soaring 6th Tee of the B loop. The facility opened to the public in 1993 and its sumptuous clubhouse offers a unique setting for weddings and other banqueting events. Batalha Golf Course is situated on the north coast of São Miguel island, just 10 minutes from the centre of the capital Ponta Delgada.

Well maintained course and friendly staff. Lots of rain the days before but there were no wet spots on the fairways or rough; signals great drainage on the course!

Hi Raquel,
it was really a peasure to play on both courses, Batalha and Furnas. Great support locally as we changed our tee times weather caused! We can recommend both courses as excellent golf experiences!

Sometimes it's not clear where you need to go to when going through the course (we mixed up holes 3 & 7)

Fantastic views, great course.
The fairways and roughs are narrow on many holes. Lots of balls into the inpentrable rough. Buy a dozen reclaimed balls at.50 c to each to have enough.
The fairways Are hard and sloping adding many yards to the drive. Plan on looking for your ball beyond where you thought you hit to.
Quite expensive compared to equivalent courses in the States. But worth it. Every hole is a photo op of the Ocean or the mountains. I call them mountains because you're playing on a volcano. Lots of rocks And beautiful flowers.
Plan on a long round, but we weren't rushed, so just enjoy the experience. We had a beautiful sunny day, Had to put our jackets on and off many times, because when we were exposed to the wind off the Atlantic it was very cool, but when we were out of the wind it was quite warm.

Great physical challenge to walk the C & A courses but well worth the effort. Challenging golf - much planning and knowledge of your own game to master many holes. Lovely views to the sea and a well-appointed club house. Would love to be a member here!
