Roda Golf Modern Buggies
Roda Golf & Beach Resort has upgraded its golfing experience for visitors by purchasing thirty modern golf buggies, notably the Riversa Club Car Tempo model. This decision demonstrates the resort’s commitment to high-quality golf amenities during your golf holiday in Murcia, as well as its emphasis on environmental responsibility and player comfort.

“Golf buggies are integral to the golfing journey,” says Roda Golf & Beach Resort director José Antonio Hernández Ballesteros. “We chose these buggies with both player comfort and environmental sustainability in mind.”

The Club Car Tempo has ergonomic seating and top-tier suspension, ensuring players have a smooth ride and can concentrate on their game.

Recognising the industry’s shift towards sustainability, Roda Golf & Beach Resort has embraced it with the purchase of electric buggies. These environmentally friendly options, driven by electric batteries, are a dramatic contrast to regular petrol cars, significantly reducing carbon emissions and noise pollution, making them a golf sustainability option. Such developments not only improve the course’s environmental condition but also promise lower operational costs for the resort in the long run.

Furthermore, adding these electric buggies highlights the resort’s commitment to inclusion. Their user-friendly design appeals to golfers of all ages and skill levels. The buggies’ silent operation and better mobility enhance all guests’ gaming experience.

The response from both players and club members has been extraordinarily positive. These buggies’ increased comfort and convenience of use have surely improved the overall golfing experience at the resort. Additionally, club members applaud the resort’s aggressive approach to environmental conservation. Reduced emissions and noise levels have created a more tranquil atmosphere, and golfers take pride in preserving the region’s natural allure.

According to José Antonio Hernández, “With this investment, Roda Golf & Beach Resort reaffirms its unwavering dedication to golfing excellence, aspiring to deliver unparalleled experiences to every guest.”

La Hacienda Links Acknowledged
Recently, the golf course of La Hacienda Links Golf Resort was honoured with the title of ‘Best Golf Course in Spain’ at the tenth World Golf Awards. This accolade acknowledges the significant investment by Millennium Hospitality’s owners following a transformative renovation spearheaded by architect Kurtis Bowman.

Highlighting excellence in golf tourism, this year’s World Golf Awards convened industry luminaries from over sixty-five nations spanning Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, North America, and Oceania.

“We’re immensely proud of this recognition. It underscores the outstanding efforts of the entire La Hacienda team and Kurtis Bowman’s vision, resulting in one of southern Europe’s most distinctive courses. The allure of our landscapes, greens, bunkers, and panoramic vistas is undeniable,” enthused Javier Illán, president of Millennium Hospitality Real Estate.

This accolade caps off a remarkable year for Links de La Hacienda, following its recognition in Golf Inc.’s esteemed ‘Renewal of the Year’ competition for its par 72 design.

“This achievement is a testament to the unwavering dedication of the Millennium Hospitality Group, notably our president, Javier Illán. From the outset, he envisioned positioning the resort among Spain and Europe’s elite. Recognising the resort’s potential, we’ve not only revamped our flagship Links but also introduced a rebrand. Next summer heralds the inauguration of the Fairmont La Hacienda, a luxury accommodation that promises to amplify regional tourism,” remarked Javier Jiménez-Casquet, general manager of La Hacienda Links Golf Resort.

Integral to the resort’s comprehensive overhaul was Bowman’s role in refining hole designs, landscape aesthetics, and golf sustainability measures, making it one of the most remarkable golf courses in the Seville and Cadiz area.

Collaborating with constructors GTM Golf and Garden & Golf, the endeavour encompassed tee, green complex, and bunker renovations, along with hole redesigns. These enhancements signify Links’ ascent as a burgeoning powerhouse in European golf over the past year and the star of a full remodel across the resort, becoming a fantastic opportunity for a golf break in Andalusia.

Beyond reviving the Links course and its clubhouse, the resort’s 36-hole enclave has introduced myriad enhancements to its golf and recreational offerings. This includes augmenting the eighteen-hole Heathland course. Furthermore, introducing updated accommodation packages and a transition house for Links players augments the resort’s allure. Looking ahead, La Hacienda is poised to inaugurate the Fairmont Hotel and a 213-room villa complex in 2024, solidifying its ambition to stand as Spain’s premier luxury golf destination holiday in Seville and Cádiz surrounding areas.

Camiral Golf Sustainability Efforts

Camiral Golf Sustainability Efforts

Camiral Golf Sustainability Efforts
Formerly PGA Catalunya Resort, Camiral Golf & Wellness is now committed to golf sustainability, especially for your golf holiday in Costa Brava, and has begun a thorough three-year strategy to execute new projects. In addition to improving the resort experience for guests, these measures will cut the use of treated irrigation water by 35%.

The new measures include changing the grass on both golf courses, reducing irrigation areas, and exploring innovative irrigation system options. They build on previous sustainability efforts at the Stadium Course and Hotel Camiral, which included establishing a photovoltaic panel park on the hotel roof for green energy.

Camiral Golf & Wellness, widely regarded as the best golf resort in Spain and a stop on the European Tour, places its emphasis on environmentally conscious water management. CEO David Plana praised the company’s dedication, which began with the opening of the first golf course in 1999 with the use of 100% recycled water for irrigation.

This three-year project, which the CEO estimates will drastically reduce water consumption by at least 35%, demonstrates the resort’s dedication to responsible golf course management. This endeavour further demonstrates their dedication to improving their client experience, as pointed out by David Plana.

Earlier this year, Camiral Golf & Wellness was recognised on the ‘Green 100’ list, which showcases the best environmentally conscious golf courses in Europe, by Golf World magazine.

Tall Fescue was planted on the resort’s greens in 2022, and in 2023, the native drought- and heat-resistant Bermuda Celebration will be used on the tees and in the surrounding areas.

In July 2023, the first phase was completed, according to David Bataller, agronomist director at Camiral Golf & Wellness. This phase features a change in grass variety for tees and surroundings, inspired by the Augustas National in the United States. The grass varieties that were introduced, such as Tall Fescue, Bermuda Celebration, Paspalum Platinum, and Bent Grass, are not only of high quality, but they are also resistant to pests and illnesses, and these varieties were used on the fairways at Augustas.

As part of its dedication to sustainability and environmental consciousness, the Camiral resort works tirelessly to keep its championship courses in immaculate shape. The environmental responsibility and long-term viability of the golf course will be maintained through the use of advanced technology, sustainable methods, and collaboration with in-house biologists. Further evidence of the resort’s commitment to environmental preservation is its 2020 IAGTO Sustainability Award, GEO Certified accreditation, and recognition from the STRI Group.
