Course renovations Golf Son Vida
Son Vida is the Mallorca island’s oldest golf course and has become one of the world-famous golf courses. Host twice the European Tour and it is a highlight for golfers from across the world. The old tree population and breath-taking scenery over the Bay of Palma are stunning.
The Grande Dame of golf courses was inaugurated in 1964, by Prince of Monaco at the opening festivities for the Son Vida golf course, composed only by 9 holes back then.
Many visit the Mallorca island simply to play a round on this golf course.
Designed by the British golf architect F.W. Hawtree, inspired by the charming Mediterranean landscape, created a varied golf course that fits flawlessly into the scenery.
In 1990 and 1994, Son Vida hosted the Open de Baleares and rose in the interest of European golf. The two competitions were won by Seve Ballesteros and Barry Lane correspondingly.
In 2001 the golf course was redesigned by the leadership of the German golf architect Kurt Rossknecht and raised its quality.
Last winter Son Vida golf course started with an extensive project to improve the tee boxes, as well as the greenside bunkers and drainage of the course. This year they will finish the project – tee boxes, fairway bunkers and more drainage – which will ensure that Golf Son Vida is in best conditions for the year 2020.
These upcoming renovations result in a closure of the Golf Son Vida course from the 7th of January until the 29th of February 2020. Restaurant Golf Son Vida will also be closed during these dates.
Son Vida golf course belongs to the Arabella group in conjunction with Son Muntaner and Son Quint golf courses. During this period, you are more than welcome to book these, also amazing golf courses, Golf Son Muntaner and Golf Son Quint.
On the 1st of March, they are again bookable on all 3 courses of Arabella Golf, and they are looking forward to welcoming golfers back on the improved Golf Son Vida!
