The Golf Hub of PGA Catalunya Resort incorporates the first fitting and performance centre of the country, equipped with GEARS Golf, Toptracer and TrackMan technology. These two facilities are pioneers in Spain, analysing and measuring the swing and the drive according to the trajectory of the ball. During the event, the Castellón golfer made a presentation of GEARS Golf and Toptracer with international influencers from the world of golf to compete for the longest drive.
“It is a pleasure to have an exceptional collaborator like Sergio García at the opening of our renewed golf academy. This space reflects our firm commitment to offer the best infrastructures for the practice of this sport. We continually make investments in unique golf and leisure facilities within the complex with the aim of becoming the best practice centre in Europe and professionals from around the world to choose PGA Catalunya Resort destination to perfect their game, “says David Plana, CEO of PGA Catalunya Resort.
Garcia took advantage of his visit to celebrate the seventh anniversary of his Junior Golf Academy by giving a master class in the practice area of the PGA Catalunya Golf Resort complex. The youngsters who took part in the session are members of the Sant Gregori Consortium, a non-profit organization that offers special attention to people with intellectual disabilities, and of the Ramon Noguera Foundation, an entity specializing in the development of inclusion projects with the objective to guarantee the rights of people with different disabilities and improve their quality of life.
“Whenever I can I go to visit my students to check all their progress. It is an honour for me to have the opportunity to inspire the future promises of golf and see their great energy and talent. I am proud, in addition, of being able to contribute to make the sport accessible to people with diverse physical and intellectual abilities and to enhance their participation in sports activities as a motor of social inclusion, “says Sergio García.
