New Arrivals: Going on a golf holiday is great.

And while we are fully committed to bringing you the lowest possible prices, we know that a golf holiday doesn’t come cheap, or does it??

We share here our expertise to bring you the 10 best tips for you to save on your next golf holiday

1- Book in advance
Being organized can help you out when booking your golf holidays; it allows time for any changes, gives you the best chance to secure the availability of accommodation and also to get the tee times you prefer.
More importantly to this article, you can benefit the “Early Booking Discount“. Sometimes it may go up to 40%.

2- Look for more complete packages
Choosing a complete package is as convenient as it is cost-efficient; you won’t need to go searching for hotel and golf courses separately and add extra services you will need like the shuttle services to golf courses or airport transfers.
Everything is put together for you in the best way possible and paid for already, which of course, at first sight, will be more expensive, but it will cut your spending costs down massively.

3- Loyalty Rewards
We love it when our clients come back to us year after year, especially when we consider that our employees and customers have such common interest which is “The best golf holiday possible“. That is why we always reward our clients with loyalty card advantages. When you book with us you accumulate money in your account and you can deduct it at your next reservation.

4- Taking your clubs or renting?
If the money was not the issue, we believe everybody would prefer to take their own clubs. However, most of the airlines are charging extra fees for golf club carriage. Compare the extra charge of airlines and the cost of rentals. Mostly, renting golf clubs can be much cheaper than taking your own. And it is troublefree with the assistance of delivering and collecting the clubs at your hotel.

5- Group discounts
Traveling in a larger group helps everyone to save money. If you’ve browsed some of our great deals before, you will have seen the phrase “groups of 8” or “1 in 8” or “1 in 12” used frequently. This means when you get eight or more people (depends on the offer) people to join the group one person will be offered to travel free of charge. Then all that’s left to do is split the saving between the group and everybody will save money. Also, if you are comfortable with sharing the accommodation with other participants in your group, booking a hotel or apartment offering four, six or eight people staying together will reduce the accommodation cost drastically.

6- Seize the deals out of prime times
All the golf travelers want to enjoy their golf in the morning, leaving the rest of the day to explore, drink or chill but if you’re willing to break this habit, it could really pay off, you can benefit the early bird or twilight discounts that almost all the golf courses offer.

7- Go “out of season”
When booking a golf holiday, consider booking out of the ‘peak summer seasons’ of June, July & August; it’ll bring your cost down. Especially destinations blessed with great weather like Algarve or south Spain, you will still enjoy the heat and sunshine out of the summer season too.

8- Change the weekend break
Thursday to Sunday is the most common long weekend break for golfers too. if you want to experience the nightlife, the weekend is probably the best time to go. But if you’re more into golfing than a bar crawl, then still go on a long weekend, but switch it up. Instead of Thursday to Sunday try Saturday to Tuesday. Not only will you experience a quieter golf course and hotel but you can also save at airline tickets an in some cases at golf courses and hotels.

9- Multiple rounds at the same course
In every destination you go to, you will find several amazing courses and will be tempted to experience all. However, most of the courses have special discounts for multiple rounds.
Also, besides being cheaper there are some benefits of playing the same course twice. Especially with the challenging courses. Returning to the same course and knowing what you are facing might improve your game and you can enjoy the same course better.
With the 27 holes courses, you can try different combinations and enjoy a different game on the same course.

10- And last but not least: Book your golf holidays with Tee Times Golf Agency
We never give up chasing the best deals and the newest promotions to offer you the best price you can find in the market. Also with our “Best Price Guarantee Policy” we promise you to refund your money back on the difference if you find a better offer.

So there you go, 10 tips to make your golf holiday cheaper. If you have any more tips to share, post a comment.

And if you want to put these tips into practice and book a golf holiday simply contact us, we will take care of the rest.

Madeira declared Europe’s ‘up and coming’ golf destination

Palheiro Golf Course. Madeira declared Europe’s ‘up and coming’ golf destination

Madeira declared Europe’s ‘up and coming’ golf destination

Madeira has been named Europe’s ‘up and coming’ golf destination by Square Mile, the luxury magazine for those working in the City of London’s financial industry.”

Madeira‘s latest award enhances the Islands growing reputation as a golf destination, which sees it offer an excellent climate with hot summers and mild winters and three excellent golf courses, created by three of the industry’s biggest names: Seve Ballesteros, Cabell B Robinson and Robert Trent Jones Snr.

Palheiro Golf, the par-72, 6,656-yard (6,086m) golf course, designed by Robinson, is situated within the magnificent Palheiro Estate, which is more than 200 years old. At nearly 1,640ft above sea level, the location enjoys dramatic views of Madeira’s mountainous skyline and the ocean, and just 10 minutes away you’ll discover the island’s capital, Funchal.

Porto Santo Golf Course

Porto Santo Golf Course

Santo da Serra’s original golf course, dating from 1937, was redesigned in 1991 by Robert Trent Jones Snr, who created a new and spectacular 27-hole complex. The third and fourth holes of the Machico course are regarded as the signature holes, sitting on top of cliffs more than 2,200ft above sea level, providing views of the bay of Machico.

Porto Santo Golf, the 27-hole, Severiano Ballesteros – designed golf course, par-72, 7,036-yard (6,434m), opened in 2004 and comprises of two distinct nines. The southern route, a US-style layout, is dotted with lakes, requiring a long and precise game. The northern route is on top of fantastic cliffs. The signature hole is the 200-yard par-three 13th, which requires a shot over a gorge to reach a cliff-top green.

In its annual golf awards feature, Square Mile said: “(Madeira) may not be the first destination that springs to mind when thinking of prime golfing real estate, but it is an excellent year-round location to tee it up”.

“These volcanic islands, warmed by the Gulf Stream, enjoy blazing summers and mild winters, while quaint picturesque villages, stunning vistas, and natural beaches mean there’s plenty to occupy your time off the fairways, as well as three world-class golf destinations that will command your attention”.

Porto Santo, Santo da Serra and Palheiro all enjoy picture-perfect coastal views but the former, designed by Seve Ballesteros, is a true hidden gem. Weaving past beaches and two extinct volcanoes, it is one of a kind.”

The accolade is not the only one received by Madeira in recent weeks. Earlier this month, it was named the world’s ‘leading island destination’ for the fourth successive year and Europe’s ‘leading island destination’ for a fifth time, at the World Travel Awards.

Located just 500km from the African continent – a flight of less than four hours from most UK airports.

Madeira, also known as ‘the islands of eternal spring’, has a population of only 260,000. On the same latitude as Morocco, the Atlantic archipelago has a sub-tropical climate, a rich volcanic soil and a unique eco-system. It is one of the only places in the planet where banana trees grow next to vineyards.

In 1999 the Island group was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site and five areas have been declared nature reserves. The Madeira Nature Reserve covers a substantial two-thirds of the main island, where development is prohibited.
