Golf Son Vida’s exciting changes for 2025

Tee Time Adjustments and Hole 10 Modification

Golf Son Vida has announced that starting in 2025, all tee times will begin exclusively from Tee 1 all year round. Additionally, during the high season, the Double Tee system that had been in place will be discontinued due to the modification of Hole 10 to a Par 3. This player-centric change reflects their commitment to the improvement of the course’s overall pace and player satisfaction.

Green Renovation Efforts

From January 7 to February 14, 2025, the renowned course has also announced that it will undertake the second phase of its green renovation project. During this time, it has been declared that Holes 10 through 18 will remain closed as a way to complete this significant improvement on the course. Note that you can still enjoy an 18-Hole experience by adjusting your game and completing two 9-Hole rounds on the available holes.

This green renovation endeavour will include the implementation of a new, more sustainable and resilient type of grass, aligning with the course’s commitment to environmental stewardship and player satisfaction.

What makes Golf Son Vida a must-visit in Mallorca

As the oldest course in Mallorca, Golf Son Vida stands out as a cherished landmark in Mallorca’s rich history. Below are a few of the points that set this course apart:

Marvellous Design

This course had two brilliant minds behind its inception; it was first opened in 1964 with a design by prominent British architect Fred Hawtree, celebrated for his classic course designs. The course was later revamped in 2001 by the legendary Kurt Rossknecht, which introduced a modern touch to the course’s design while still maintaining its timeless classic charm.

A Challenging and Scenic Course

Featuring stunning views of Palma Bay, narrow fairways, and strategically placed bunkers, set amidst the luxurious Son Vida estate, this course offers a perfect amalgamation of breathtaking scenery and challenging golf rounds. Signature holes like the dramatic 18th, a par 5 with a dogleg finish, perfectly showcase the course’s blend of beauty and challenge.

Rich Tournament History

Golf Son Vida has a rich history with professional tournaments, proudly hosting the European Tour’s Balearic Open on two occasions. The allure of its prestige draws golfers from every corner of the world.

Portugal and Spain: the Best Choice to Play Golf during the Cooler Months

Tee Times offers exceptional packages tailored for golf during the cooler months, including access to top courses, accommodations, and personalised service. Playing golf during the cooler months in Portugal and Spain is a delightful experience. With milder temperatures than the rest of Europe, these destinations allow golfers to enjoy the game year-round. However, autumn and winter bring unique challenges, making it essential to dress appropriately and pack smartly for your trip.

Layering is the key to staying comfortable on the golf course golf during the cooler months. Start with a lightweight, moisture-wicking base layer to keep sweat away from your body. Add a thermal mid-layer for warmth, such as a fleece or merino wool pullover. Finally, pack a windproof and waterproof jacket to protect against occasional rain or coastal breezes.

Prioritise Comfort and Flexibility
Golf requires unrestricted movement, so choose clothing made from stretchable fabrics. Opt for trousers or leggings paired with a comfortable polo or long-sleeve shirt. Many brands now offer insulated golf apparel that combines warmth with ease of movement.

Don’t Forget Accessories
Accessories can make a big difference. A beanie or thermal hat will keep you warm on chilly mornings, while gloves with a good grip protect your hands from the cold. Additionally, pack a scarf or neck gaiter for added protection against wind.

Footwear Matters
Wet grass and occasional rain mean that waterproof golf shoes are a must. Bring extra socks to ensure your feet stay dry and comfortable throughout the day.

Packing Tips
When preparing your suitcase, focus on versatile items that can be mixed and matched. Roll your clothes to save space, and include a small bag for dirty or wet items. Don’t forget sunscreen—autumn and winter sun in Portugal and Spain can still be strong.
