Also in Aliezur Lullabies of the World will be performed in December, a musical moment of poetry with activities and songs about the first steps and endeavours of life. Oliver Fisher made history here in Vilamoura 2018 shooting 59 for a European Tour record, The Englishman broke the barrier in the second round of the Portugal Masters on Friday, carding ten birdies and an eagle in a stunning 12 under par bogey-free effort that will go down in European Tour folklore and Tom Lewis was the first to renew the title, producing the biggest 54-hole comeback of the season to win the Portugal Masters for the second time at Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course.

The Englishman fired an opening 72 on Thursday to sit nine shots behind first-round leader Lucas Herbert but rounds of 63 and 61 meant he was just two behind the Australian heading into the final round in Vilamoura.

Lucas Herbert recorded his best-ever 54-hole score on the European Tour to take a two-shot lead into the final round of the Portugal Masters.

The Australian carded a 64 to get to 19 under at Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course and lead the way from England’s Tom Lewis, who signed for his lowest ever European Tour round with a stunning 61.

Victoria golf course, designed by the Legendary player Aronld Palmers in 2004, proves an exceptional challenge for even the best golfer, It is called “Cascatas Victória” (Victoria Falls) honouring the 12 waterfalls inside the several lakes along the right hand side of the fairway, together with some bunkers it is often also described as the “crown jewel” with its mixture of water hazards and bunkers to conquer, a true challenge in its own right. The Victoria golf course has the most varied greens, both in size as in form, 5.5 hectares of well placed bunkers, white sand and some with artistic shapes, such as the one at 8th hole, a giant octopus-shaped, in some of the bunkers, the sand spreads down all the way to the lakes, a typical Palmer´s signature.

Lucas Bjerregaard has pledged to return to the stage of his first European Tour victory and will defend Portugal Masters title at the Dom Pedro Victoria Golf Course in
September 20-23.

The Danish produced one of the best displays of his career to win in Vilamoura last year and now seeks to enter history and become the first player to revalidate the title of the Portugal Masters.
Bjerregaard came to the Algarve a year ago in a delicate situation, trying to keep his European Tour card for this season, but he found his best form at the right moment and reached the last round of the tournament with the lead secured by a 1 shot.

Already twice the 27-year-old player had seen himself in that leading position at the entrance for a final round, having finished 2nd at the UBS Hong Kong Open in 2015 and tied for 3rd at the Volvo China Open in 2017.
This time he did not falter and fired 8 birdies in a last round of 65 strokes to close the tournament with an aggregate of 20 under Par, beating Marc Warren for 4 strokes.

After this victory, Bjerregaard reached another six top 10 on the European Tour, namely a 3rd place (tied) in the BMW PGA Championship, his highest ever rating in a Rolex Series tournament.
“Portugal Masters is a special event for me and I look forward to trying to defend my title,” he said.
“My last round of last year is one of the best ever. Some of the shots I did under pressure were some of the best I’ve done in a long time. I really enjoyed being able to confirm my lead in the tournament after the third round and take that trophy, having already been in that position before without being able to take advantage of it, “he added.
“Since then I have been able to add some more good results this season and I would love to repeat the one made at Dom Pedro Victoria, “concluded the Danish who this year is not having any difficulties in keeping is European Tour card and is well placed in the top 40 of the Race for the Dubai of 2018.
