Tee Times Portugal Golf: Hugo Santos One Shot Less to First on Algarve Pro Golf Tour at Palmares, Algarve
Harry Casey came back to win the Algarve Pro Golf Tour, the fifth of the six tournaments scheduled for 2014. The English had won the third tournament and lead the Order of Merit in the respective circuit, when today scored again to win the 3rd Palmares Classic in par -72 of Lagos & Beach routes of Onyria Palmares Beach & Golf Resort in Lagos.
Casey did two rounds of 68 strokes for, with a total of 136 (8 under par), won with a minimum advantage over the Portuguese Hugo Santos (70-67) and Craig Farrelly (68-69) and Vanslow Philips (68-69) – the champion on the Open Portugal 1999 at Penina. A step below, with 139, were Mark Hilsson and the Portuguese Tiago Cruz, who had won Thursday the previous tournament also in Palmares.
There was yet another Portuguese in the top 10: Gonçalo Pinto (69-71), tied for 7th with Max Eichmeier (67-73) and Marcus Armitage (69-71), a trio with 140. Moreover, the amateur John Ramos was 23rd with 146 (76-70), António Sobrinho 25 with 147 (74-73), Nelson Knight 33 with 154 (74-80) and Gonçalo Mota Carmo 40th with 161 (76-85). A total of 41 players participated at Palmares in sunny Algarve, Portugal.
