Tee Times Portugal Holidays: Algarve Beer Fest – Albufeira, Algarve – Portugal, 26th – 29th of June 2014
The Algarve Beer Fest, an inaugural event for Albufeira, will be held in the Fisherman’s Square (Praça dos Pescadores) right by the Fisherman’s Beach (Praia dos Pescadores). With nearly 40 brands of craft beers from 10 different countries, this festival will truly be an international event.
These craft-beer companies will be from the countries of Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Greece, England, Scotland, Czech Republic, and the U.S.A.
Portugal will be strongly represented. The ‘Mean Sardine’ brewery, from Mafra in Lisbon, with their Zagaia and Amura beers will be there. Along with ‘The Three Brewers’ (Os Tres Cervejeiros), beer producing company with their selection of ‘Sovina’ branded beers, and also the national brands of ‘Vadia’ and ‘Maldita’ beers.
At this event, described as the ‘Craft Beer Party of the Summer’, food and entertainment will also be provided for those attending.
Albufeira town, known as the tourist capital of the Algarve, is centrally located on the coast. Beach-lovers will have many choices in this thriving holiday resort. The old town of Albufeira offers a labyrinth of cobbled streets, lined with shops, restaurants and bars that lead onto the main square, Largo Duarte Pacheco, where street entertainers regularly entertain the crowds. For lovers of the nightlife there is also the area know as ‘The Strip’, near the Oura beach, offering an endless selection of bars and nightclubs.

This looks like a great event! Did you happen to visit it? I’d love to hear some first-hand experiences from anyone that did… Looks like I’ve missed it for this year but it definitely looks like something I’d enjoy in the future.
