Estepona Golf boasts stunning sea views from many areas of the golf course, Estepona Golf in Malaga, provides a fair test enjoyed by players of all standards. The course is in terrible condition, some areas quite dangerous where there is fall off either side of the buggy path. Steep inclines on and off the greens without steps. Sand been dropped in large quantities to, I assume, dry out wet areas, including just in front of greens where the ball would stop dead and not run up to the green. The fairways were mostly scorched and off fairway barren, hard soil. Not a pleasant experience. Would not play here again.

Could be a nice course, but the fairways were in a pretty bad shape. And one of the par 3 of the first leg, has to be played from a mat. Compared to other courses nearby, not the same value for the money

Nice course with mix of tighter and some wider fairways. Is being renovated but condition is reasonable. Quiet and very good value. We enjoyed it

The course was very wet and muddy in places. When I asked why, I was told that they had put too much water on the course the previous night. As there are many sloping fairways, the lower sides were mostly muddy and not pleasant to play. The staff and other facilities were good

Played only 9 holes due to bad weather (rain and wind). Still managed two pars, which is good for me, especially for a first time visit. The course is interesting; lots of hills and slopes but still playable. Fairways are neither wide nor narrow, so a decent shot will find the fairway. Can't comment speed of greens, because they were soaked due to heavy rain. generally they looked ok with moderate break.
I walked and carried, as did the playing partners, which is rare on Costa del sol! However, this is not the easiest course to walk, due to some steep slopes and at least one longer walk from green to next tee. That said, if you mostly walk and are reasonably fit and it is not a super hot day, this is walkable too. After all, I did it carrying on a soft and wet course in heavy wind. If you are not used to walking a full course, this is not the one to try. If you prefer to play the game the way it was intended, then there are several courses on the Costa that are easier to walk: I can recommend Mijas, Los Naranjos, El Paraiso, Parador, La Quinta (maybe not the B course), but I've also heard good things about Rio Real and Santana.
If the hilly courses don't put you off, this is certainly worth the mone. It had the cheapest greenfee of the courses I've played here, with no direct negatives. The staff was friendly, restaurant seemed ok (only had a coffee so can't comment on food), easy to find, fairways and greens were in the same conditions as on other courses in late February/early March, the layout about average. There are better courses in all respects, but they also cost a lot more. And there definitely are a lot of more expensive courses that are a worse choice. Definitely value for money.
