This golf course is located within the Quinta da Deveza, near Amarante, where tradition and magnificent landscapes and scenery abound, in particular, the River Tamega and the Mountain of Marão. This is a truly mountainous course as it is 600 meters above sea level. It has four water hazards and covers an area of 40 hectares.|The first hole slopes deeply downwards and is 495 meters long and the last, on the contrary, rather shorter with 447 meters, slopes fairly steeply upwards. Hole 12 is 445 meters long and a good strong shot is necessary to get over the lake on the right hand side and attention should be paid to the left, because of the fencing that marks the out of bounds area. The green is defended by four bunkers.|The course cannot be classified as difficult although it does have excellent and fast greens, the majority of which are short in length.

Interesting course, not long but challenging. Several blind shots and up and downs into small but well maintained greens.
Not easy to navigate for a first time but you need to remember yellow flags on the front and red on the back nine.
Extremely friendly and helpfull staff.

Greens corrects , fairways moyens
Accueil très sympathique au clubhouse comme au restaurant personnel au top !

This course was very disappointing. The fairways were quite bare and the greens were very furry. We were directed to the buggy area and were told where the firsthole was by someone at the front desk. The pro shop was closed. We played the holes incorrectly until another guest told us the front nine had yellow flags and the back nine had red.
The hospitality in the club house was very good but the golf experience was not worth the money we paid.

We had a very warm welcome from Rui Morris, the golf pro and director. Very challeging course with nice views. There is a bit of work to do on the greens,
teeboxes and some areas of the fairways but when we heard the golfcourse had been closed and reopened this year, it should not hold you back to play Amarante Golf.

Great course, in very good condition. Lots of up and downs. Staff really helpful, spoke good English. 2 of us played in 3.5 hours, even with a stop for coffee and 20 minutes for a rain storm. Course very interesting with no 2 holes alike. Generous fairways, greens were a little slow because of the rain, but not bumpy.
