Moraleja II is a stadium course designed to accomodate many spectators. It is longer than Moraleja I and features 3 large lakes. The 16th is particularly attractive with its peninsula green.
The Real Club La Moraleja, home to one of the most renowned golf courses in Madrid, has reached a new milestone with the completion of renovations to the first nine holes of Course 2.
Garden & Golf has been hard at work since November 2022, and their main focus has been on updating the course's irrigation system to the modern LSM system in Toro. They have also levelled all the tees, laminated various areas of the golf course that are not in play, and redesigned the bunkers and greens.
A new modern irrigation system tailored to the course's actual needs will allow each surface to receive the exact amount of water it requires while still conserving water and energy, and the second primary goal of this action is to improve the current state of the golf course by remodelling the tees and lakes.
Toro LSM was selected because it provides precise watering by allowing individual control of each sprinkler. In addition, a significant portion of the area to be watered makes use of Infinity model sprinklers. The sprinkler style we're discussing here has a service room under the cover, which makes maintenance simpler and less disruptive to the area around the sprinkler.
The second goal is to keep going with a process that has been going on for a while and is turning Campo 2 of the Madrid club into a sustainable model by introducing C4-type grass varieties and stripping areas with vegetation that doesn't require much water to survive.
