Altijd een interessante baan om te spelen met vele verschillende lay-outs van de holes. Soms laat het onderhoud wel wat te wensen over, maar donderdag 24 mei 2024 lag de baan er goed bij. -**- Always an interesting course to play with many different layouts of the holes. Sometimes the maintenance does leave something to be desired, but on Thursday 24 May 2024, the course was in good shape.

it was a special day on the santo antonio track. We started in pouring rain and after five holes we had to stop due to thunder. Then have lunch in the attractive clubhouse with real bartenders who also provided the toast with scrumbled eggs. After 1 1/2 hours it started to clear and we were able to play the second nine. We were the only ones in the golfcourse. What an impressive course in beautiful scenery. very steep and the buggy also had a hard time. Beautiful tee boxes, green fairways and excellent greens, certainly not fast. There is a real club life and the welcome was extremely friendly. We will definitely come again

Not the easiest course I've ever played but what a treat. It is a stunning layout and one that has to be played. The par 5 9th is certainly hard but my playing partner managed a fantastic 6, not bad for the hole rated the hardest SI one anywhere! I won't mention my score but a cricketer would be proud to hit it. The valley construction is a design that helps golfers of all standards.

The best, I can say, it´s cheap. More an adventure game, than a golf course. The course is not in a good shape, but the greens are o.k. Very hilly and a buggy is strongly recommended. The staff was friendly, the little restaurant we did not visit. Not a bad golf day, but we will not play it again.

Santo Antonio Golf A different course - the staff in the pro shop and starter were very friendly and helpful. However, I will not be playing this course anytime soon. The course was very steep. We reserved a buggy but you are not allowed to take your buggy anywhere on the first nine. That was quite understandable. The 1st nine is very steep and I found it scary as well. I don't know if I would have felt more comfortable walking, but I didn't feel safe in the buggy. The 2nd nine is less steep but the distances between some holes are pretty far. All in all the 2nd nine appealed more to me but because of the 1st nine, I won't be coming back anytime soon. The clubhouse interior was not inviting and rather plain. The terrace was not large but you have a nice view of hole 18. The staff (restaurant) was very friendly.

Ranger was a real jobs worth . Extremely windy Paths are very steep and would be dangerous in the wet Seemed like a club that didn’t really want visitors

Played the course same time last year and found this year it played a bit better for knowing the layout. A nice welcome at the clubhouse and pro helped with a couple of things. We had 2 in buggies, 4 with electric trolleys and 1 with a pull trolley. It is very hard going with the pull trolley !! Best advice is book buggies before you visit as they only had a couple available for our group with a 1pm tee. All aspects of course maintenance were good, a couple of the greens played at different pace to the others but that’s to be expected with the different terrain. Nice balcony to relax after the round and although a bi5 of a way out from where we were staying worth the drive for first round of five in five days. Good value for money given the general prices on the Algarve

We were greeted by helpful and friendly staff and the course was in good condition but there were still a couple of quirky holes which I am not fond of.although I still enjoyed my round (even though I played rubbish). A quirky course that requires getting used to! When you understand the strategic nature of the course, one can then relax and plot your way around. A buggy certainly helps with the hills, valleys and slopes. A reasonably priced day out for some fun holiday golf. Condition was good in general with greens running nicely. Tees a little worn but it’s summer and hot. Worth a visit as this course is nothing like other Algarve courses.

I enjoyed the course, it took a few holes to settle into the hilly vagaries of the lay out. Which slop do I aim for! An interesting day, challenging hole, not always the driver, fairway or rescue club from tees for accuracy. Greens in decent condition but slower than I usually play on. Holiday course, definitely use a buggy or you will be a 5 stone lighter!

Having played this course now on a number of occasions I have always found it surprises me. It's unlike any other course in the Algarve. The first time I played it, I wanted to turn the car around just driving in. It looks wildly unplayable with its long, dropping fairways but once you are out there you find a course that engages from the first swing. Yes, there are a couple of high tees and blind fairway runs which you will discover require a little course knowledge to play. ( Here the club could help with better mapping at the tees). There are also some lovely little par threes, the fifth being 90 meters of fun, that require thought. This is a real golf course. It takes good course management and rewards risk. And it's fun to play. The staff are always pleasent,the fantastic clubhouse clean and well staffed. It's a joy to sit,overlooking the 18th green and enjoy the excellent food. Would it be my first choice on The Algarve? No. But would I come out for a fortnight and not want to play it? Certainly not.

A nice and relaxed round of Golf on a difficult course. Not so busy as many other courses in the Algarve. A buggy is highly recommended, even if you have to stay on the path at some holes (not only the Par 3). If you do like only flat courses, this is the wrong place for you.

Thoroughly enjoyed our game on this physically demanding course. It made our home course which is well known for its hills seem quite tame. We walked the course but would recommend a buggy, particularly as distances from green to tee can be quite long. Also, don't forget to pick up a course map as it isn't printed on the scorecard. We will probably play it again when we return next year.

My only complaint would be the price of a buggy!!!!!! at 50 euro surely the most expensive on the Algarve. As I only paid 55 euro for the round that came as a bit of a shock

Very hilly, meaning many above / below feet fairway shots, and most penal even for the straight drives which head down the slopes. Many blind shots as well, with the 6th being painful to know where the ball has actually landed even after a straight tee shot. As you’re not allowed to use your buggies on a number of holes and due to the slopes, you can spend an age wondering where your ball has landed / ended up on the blind shots. That said, the greens were in very good condition and there are some lovely looking golf holes.

Good experience playing at Santo Antonio as expected. It was helpful for me to be assigned to play along with others when I was alone. There is a little maintenance required on a few parts of the course - e.g. I was surprised to be playing the 18th hole from a temporary tee.

What a beautiful golf course, only spoiled by having to keep to the buggy paths, you end up walking further, up and down the hills of the fairways. Although we were in buggies I couldn't recommend this course to anyone who isn't very fit. Can't take anything away from the beauty of this golf course though, It's challenging but good scores are achievable.

First time I have played this course and it was very challenging but very picturesque. The staff where friendly and helpful. Highly recommend if you want to test your game. I play off 12 and scored 89 so was happy with that. Make sure you have a buggy as it’s hilly.

Very nice course. Challenging natural profile. Hilly character and some hidden greens make for a demanding but very nice golf day. Buggy could be useful. Lovely setting of the club house and patio together with its friedly stuff make this visit perfect. Improvement suggestion. It would help guest flights which come for the first time to find complete and more destinct ' Next Tee ' indication.

Because of the topography, you have to play a second time to play it with pleasure. The course has seen better times and urgently needs maintenance so that it doesn't get any further. The brakes of all the buggies we used were in poor condition. Friendly staff and good service at the club restaurant.

Pro shop staff very friendly and helpful. Was able to play with a couple that was more familiar. With the course and had averyenjoyable round. I found the course to be in very good shape. It had been in 2004 that I played the course last.. looking forward to playing there again.

St Antonio (formerly Florista) is a really beautiful course. It's a great challenge for medium handicapped players but rather too difficult for lowly players such as myself (handicap 23). Nevertheless, it's a pleasure to play there and we'll definitely be back next year.

Be aware the course closes at 18:45 so make sure you have enough time to complete your round, we had a delay due to rain which meant time was a little tight, although we did get round in time, buggy needed otherwise it's a long walk. Super course, some great challenging holes but plays fair for all standards. Definitely recommend this course.

It is a hard golf course, especially for someone out of The Netherlands. (Really flat courses there) Due to heavy rainfall the week before our visit, the course was really soft and balls got plugged and stayed at these slopes. Difficult to recover standing below or above your ball all the time. In the end thanks to sollid putting I made an 83 and was happy with this result. Overall the views are stunning from time to time and the shop and shop staff was really kind. The clubhouse needs some work, dark and sober. The terrace is ok, but was cold in Februari. For this course I would not take the drive all the way to the west again. Well maybe, when the greenfee offer is really good again. Yes I am Dutch. ;)

Preiswert aber leider auch Billigqualität - nur auf Cartweg befahrbar, zahlreiche blinde Schüsse, wo dann auch der perfekte Ball nicht mehr zu finden ist. Buggy sinnlos, da viel seitliches Gefälle und dauernde Ballsuche durch ungepflegte Fairways (Grasinseln)

Course in excellent condition. 9th hole unfair golf hole due to limited landing area for economic shot followed by long 3rd. You booked us in for an extra game on the 16th. We could not play as was too foggy. Voucher given for a round up to end of October 2016
