Vale do Lobo Royal Golf Course is a beautiful par 72 championship golf course. Located in Vale do Lobo resort, set amidst the pine trees and featuring the most photographed golf hole in the world, the famous cliff-top carryover par3, Royal golf course is in tip-top condition, with impeccable greens and fairways and, although in a golf holiday resort, there's no shortage of space. The front nine of Royal golf course, starts with a short but narrow par 5 stroke 9, where your mission will be to avoid the bunkers to your left and right. The 6th hole, a par 4, is Roayal golf course's stroke 1, displaying a fairway bunker which you'll have to avoid by driving to the right. Laying up and relying on your short game to achieve par will be your best option when it comes to hitting that difficult second shot, to a green procted by water on is front- left side and a bunker behind. the 9th is quite a beautiful golf hole, scenic par 3, almost completely surrounded by water, make sure your tee shot lands softly.13th, another great golf hole par 4,hcp 2, with a elevated green surrounded by bunkers, deserve some respect. A long straight drive is needed, and the elevated green demands your best skills. Hole 16 will make you feel blessed for the scenery in front of you; you'll want to take a minute to enjoy the amazing view across the beautiful Vale do Lobo beach and then you get ready to take on obstacles such as the ravine and a big bunker to the green. Vale do Lobo Royal golf course is intergrated on a holiday resort that offers exclusive first-class leisure and sports facilities in the Algarve complemented by luxury real estate, hotels and restaurants, which come together to offer a unique and sought-after lifestyle.

I played the Royal round, except for the hole 15 with the magnificent view, it wa s not something spectacular. Lot’s of construction work building houses and the toilets were used by the construction workers. (So too dirty to be used by ourselves)

A shame, such poor conditioned greens. Every one either diseased or riddled (the most ever seen) with pitch marks. We were doing 5 each and not making an impact. It’s pointless spending your money here would argue. Course wise design is fair, not overly long but you must be straight. OOB/Houses in play a lot off the tee, so it’s not for the faint hearted in terms of slice/hook potential!

Play this course every time but today was the worse. The fairways although dry were very soft and they were hollow /aerating the fairways. Greens not the best either. Always enjoy the last few holes out by the beach but this now could be the last time. Ocean was far superior 3 days ago. For the price though, still worth the round.

We enjoyed the Royal but the greens looked like they might have suffered from disease or over use.

Great course. Challenging holes. Fairways a little bit too damp due to recent rains. Greens ok. And of course famous hole nr 16 to take nice pictures.
