Laranjal golf course named as it was originally an orange grove and opened in 2009 is the newest Quinta do Lago golf course. Designed in an American style, very long and wide with huge fast greens. There is only one hole which is slightly high. Hole 9 is a beautiful Par 5 with water protecting the green and hole 7 is one of the longest par 3 in Portugal with 236m from the pro tees . Laranjal is a challenging golf course but would suit all players and is a special friendly golf course for ladies enabling them to enjoy 877mt less distance between the red and yellow tees. A beautiful well liked golf course with great views. The Ocean is visible and due to the location in the laranjal, or orange grove you will be able to pick the oranges as you play! ...
The Quinta do Lago South course was designed in 1974 and has hosted the Portuguese Open, on several occasions. Quinta do Lago South golf course is tougher than the North; it is tight with some holes having narrow fairways. You will find very good, large greens. The course is made more challenging by a good variety of doglegs and strategically located hazards. The 17th Par 5 hcp4 could be the signature hole .Quinta do Lago South golf course is a challenging golf course set amongst umbrella pines, lakes and wild flowers overlooking the beautiful scenery of the Ria Formosa National Park, and the quinta do lago lake , suitable for golf players with medium, low handicaps and is a fairly friendly golf course for ladies enabling them to enjoy a shorter distance with 678m between the red and yellow tees . ...

Pinheiros Altos Golf Course offers 27 holes divided on 3 times 9 holes golf courses : The Corks, the Pines and the Olives. Olives and Pines, golf courses each presenting different characteristics. The Olives are the old back nine and are more flat, the wind has greater influence and have some holes where the water element comes in to play. The eighth hole, island par 3, is a good choice for nearest the pin, and is also the golf courses signature hole. Pines, the original front nine, where 4 new holes have been integrated and as its name indicates presents a more parkland course, plenty of pine trees, elevations, dog legs and also 3 lakes that protect 3 very tempting greens. The 4th a short par 5, the 5th a long par 4, stroke 1 and the 6th a par 5 reachable in 2 if you had a good tee shot. Signature hole, again a beautiful Par 3 over a valley to a McKenzie green. A great golf course, very demanding and if you succeed to finish with 36 points on stabelford you probably have played your best golf. Pinheiros Altos Corks Course is the longer and more demanding of the three nine holes. Starting right on the first tee. A narrow line for a dog leg fairway. The eighth hole, is the most difficult Par 5 in the Algarve, a double dog leg of 580 yards and a narrow gap, 120 mt before a elevated green well protected by bunkers. The Corks Golf Course is also a mixture of the original 4 holes and 5 new holes with spectacular views of the Ludo valley and the Goldra hills beyond. ...
Due to a fire that happened in the clubhouse in the Summer of 2023, the golf course is currently operating with temporary facilities. The Tees, fairways and greens remain undamaged and in excellent condition. - Food and beverages are exclusive to the buggy bar. - Temporary restroom facilities remain available throughout the premises. San Lourenco is a par 72 golf course located in Quinta do Lago and is considered one of the best and most beautiful golf courses in Europe. The fact that this is an award-winning golf course is no coincidence. Bordering with the breathtaking Ria Formosa Natural Park, some of its golf holes are blessed with what can only be described as exquisite beauty. If the first holes of San Lourenco golf course present no major surprise or challenges, after the 3rd, closer to the estuary, San Lourenco golf course starts to reveal itself. After the 5th hole, a par-3 and the course's shortest, you're introduced to a dogleg, stroke 1 sixth hole where your main challenge will be to avoid the dense shrub, so make sure you get your distances just right. As you get to the 7th, life is by no chance made easier but you still get the bonus of the outstanding views from this elevated tee before you have to focus on how to get around that green almost entirely surrounded by water. On the back nine, the 12th is the most challenging hole on San Lourenco, featuring a deep chasm along the left of a very narrow fairway. Holes 13th to 16th also face the ocean with the latter proving to be the most demanding par-3, featuring a whole 180 m carry to a shallow green. Seventeenth is, again, extremely beautiful but still falls short of the beauty that awaits you on the last hole. It is a great finale and one that will remain in your memory as it has an excellence that is renowned worldwide. It is, without a doubt, a course for special occasions, that will provide you with unforgettable beautiful moments. Of course such a unique golf course had to have unique requirements concerning the booking of your green fees and that is only possible if you are a guest at the 5 star Dona Filipa Hotel nearby or by contacting a selected few like Tee Times Golf Agency who will make the required arrangements to book what will be one of the most special games of golf you will ever play in your life. ...
Dom Pedro Pinhal Golf Course is a par 72 course and it is actually the second oldest in Vilamoura, dating back to 1976. In 1985 Robert Trent Jones was the one responsible for remodeling Pinhal. As suggested by the name, you will find numerous pine trees, which line most fairways, including some nearer the greens, making this a scenic, pleasant course to play. That's why Pinhal is a great course for the summertime since it has an abundance of shade. In fact, the 2nd hole has a pine tree right in the middle of the fairway, about 64 meters from the front of the green, and, on top of that, you'll have to try and miss the two bunkers that protect it. Hole 6th is a par 4, stroke 2 that will put to the test your accuracy with a narrow fairway and two bunkers on the right, which you will also have to avoid. The 16th hole is a par 5 stroke 1 with an uphill fairway plus a blind drive and second shot, with the added difficulty of two bunkers on each side. The 18th hole is what you call a true card wrecker. It is a difficult par 4 with a fairway that starts uphill, making the green invisible from the tee. The downhill approach with three deep bunkers and a very narrow green entrance is a tricky adventure you'll have to face on this one. Overall this is a long and very strategic course and one where you will have to make use of your best tactics to make a good second shot on most holes – sometimes it is preferable not to land that shot too much in the middle of the fairway in order to make the next one slightly easier. A true challenge this course, anything but boring! Once you've finished your golf, why not head towards Vilamoura center with its bustling marina and a wide choice of restaurants and bars where to hang out with your mates or the family. Away from the marina, you will find Parky's Bar and Chez Carlos Restaurant, renowned establishments in the area among golfers for over 20 years now. ...
Vale do Lobo Royal Golf Course is a beautiful par 72 championship golf course. Located in Vale do Lobo resort, set amidst the pine trees and featuring the most photographed golf hole in the world, the famous cliff-top carryover par3, Royal golf course is in tip-top condition, with impeccable greens and fairways and, although in a golf holiday resort, there's no shortage of space. The front nine of Royal golf course, starts with a short but narrow par 5 stroke 9, where your mission will be to avoid the bunkers to your left and right. The 6th hole, a par 4, is Roayal golf course's stroke 1, displaying a fairway bunker which you'll have to avoid by driving to the right. Laying up and relying on your short game to achieve par will be your best option when it comes to hitting that difficult second shot, to a green procted by water on is front- left side and a bunker behind. the 9th is quite a beautiful golf hole, scenic par 3, almost completely surrounded by water, make sure your tee shot lands softly.13th, another great golf hole par 4,hcp 2, with a elevated green surrounded by bunkers, deserve some respect. A long straight drive is needed, and the elevated green demands your best skills. Hole 16 will make you feel blessed for the scenery in front of you; you'll want to take a minute to enjoy the amazing view across the beautiful Vale do Lobo beach and then you get ready to take on obstacles such as the ravine and a big bunker to the green. Vale do Lobo Royal golf course is intergrated on a holiday resort that offers exclusive first-class leisure and sports facilities in the Algarve complemented by luxury real estate, hotels and restaurants, which come together to offer a unique and sought-after lifestyle. ...
Vale do Lobo Ocean golf course is a par 73 and presents itself with some of most spectacular views, on any golf course in Algarve. The front and back nine had some of the nicest layouts of an Algarve golf course. A long opening hole, then followed by the introduction of water required careful plotting. A fantastic golf hole awaits you on the 9th with a sequence of waterfalls flowing from the left of the green along side of the fairway. Back nine runs back and forth to the Ocean and marvelous white sandy beaches, part of Vale do Lobo golf resort. Some really nice holes before a tough hole back to the club house with an amphitheater green. A well worth Vale do Lobo golf course to play any time of the year in Algarve. ...
Dom Pedro Millennium Golf Course is a Par 72 golf course located in Vilamoura . Open since 2000 as become the most popular among all the Vilamoura golf courses. It is quite an open course, which makes it a favorite among lady golfers. Nevertheless, the front 9 has 5 holes set between pine trees, making it a more aesthetically pleasing experience, but on the other hand also more challenging, with narrower fairways. On this first round lies what is also Millennium's golf course signature hole, the 5th, a Par 4, stroke 1. The back 9 is easier all around, shorter, with a total change of scenery into open spaces, allowing mainstream golfers to hit their drivers without any worries. This is not at all a hilly golf course and so if you enjoy a walk you can do without the buggy. Overall, Millennium is regarded as a fairly forgiving golf course, some would say a fair course, and one to build a good score on. If you're on a golfing trip it is ideal to start your game here in the week to iron out all those faults before taking on tougher golf courses such as Pinhal or Laguna. After golf at Millennium you have a wide choice when it comes to leisure time, this is Vilamoura after all and it was purposely built for holidays and family fun. ...
Dom Pedro Old Course – Famous and favorite of many golfers, due to its special charm and charisma. Right after the first shot Dom Pedro Old Course involves the players in its unique atmosphere, made of matured pine trees, and local fauna. Narrow tree-lined fairways, doglegs, medium-sized greens, and a few bunkers are the challenges presented to the golf player at the Old Course. Opened in 1969, as the first Vilamoura golf course, designed by Frank Pennink, Dom Pedro Old Course later redesign by Martin Hawtree in 1996, raising it to high levels of quality. A new clubhouse and a large adjacent putting green were also built at the same time. Likewise, all Vilamoura golf courses, the Old Course complies also with the most strict environmental practices in order to preserve its natural ground and guarantee the cleanest environment to all visitors. ...
Dom Pedro Laguna Golf Course in Vilamoura - Algarve, laid out over low-lying coastal terrain, this course, with its many water hazards and few trees, is considerably different from the other ones at the resort and many of its holes convey a links atmosphere. Many previous visitors will recognize it as part of the former 27-hole Vilamoura III course.|It includes several lakes which influence play on a total of 11 holes. In addition to acting as hazards and emergency water reservoirs, these lakes serve a useful purpose in attracting a variety of aquatic birds, both resident and migratory, as well as amphibians, otters, terrapins, etc.| Vilamoura's master developers, Lusotur, have also established an environmental nature park not far from the course. Apart from the lakes and an impressive total of 79 bunkers, another hazard is the wind that frequently blows over this somewhat exposed location. ...

Designed by Santana da Silva, Laranjal golf course opened in 2009 and was voted Best Golf Course at Portuguese Travel Awards in 2011.
Originally an orange grove, the par 72 championship course is situated 2 km east of the resort, in the Ludo Valley. Boasting spectacular fairways and well-defined greens, Laranjal is renowned for its five beautiful lakes, umbrella pines, cork-oaks and orange trees.
Featuring five par 5s, eight par 4s and five par 3s, the course is sown with Bermuda grass on the fairways and Penn A4 on the greens, ensuring excellent putting surfaces throughout the year. The wide greens also demand good reading and confident putts.
At 6,480 metres in length, the challenging course demands the highest level of concentration and accuracy. Its distinctive rolling terrain has been expertly designed and manicured to provide a world-class golfing experience.
The 18-hole championship Quinta do Lago South Course opened in 1974. Designed by William Mitchell, the course received several times the Portuguese Open, with Mark McNulty and Colin Montgomerie being former title holders.
Quinta do Lago South is no shortage of character and the generous width of most fairways means that the South is a good driving course. The layout is enjoyable for players of all standards and surely, they will remember this experience.
Despite so many excellent holes we can highlight the 3th hole, a great par 4 where lake on the left can be a problem for longer hitters, the 15th, probably their signature hole 200 metres over water with hardly any ground between the water and the green – one of the very hardest par-3’s around, the 16th, a pretty par 4 which doglegs to a slightly sunken green with a glorious lakeside backdrop. The beautiful integration on the Natural Park of Ria Formosa makes this course a reference of Algarve courses.
The North Course was totally redesigned in 2014, by renowned architect Beau Welling, in conjunction with former European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley.
The layout remains similar to the original design, except for the 2st hole the par 3 which now features an impressive lake that edges the fairway up to the green.
The improvements are mainly from the fantastic attention to detail in the bunker positioning, run-off areas around the greens, quality of the fairways, and bigger and more wavy greens with a speed ranging from fast to very fast.
Four sets of tees have been introduced on each hole to accommodate players of all levels. Although pine trees are present throughout the golf course, the fairways remain wide. Players will have many holes to remember, but the 12th is undoubtedly the course signature hole. 361-Metre par four which features a 3-acre lake. The hole doglegs its way around the lake in an alarming fashion leaving a treacherous approach shot to a large undulating green.
Quinta do Lago North course will require good approach shots and good putting skill.
Pinheiros Altos is established as one of the most prestigious and successful premier golf and leisure resorts in Europe and owns a 27-hole Championship golf course. The Pines; Corks and Olives.
The firm, fast and testing greens, sown with Pentcross Bent and combined with the Bermuda fairway grass, provide resilient and excellent surfaces on which to play golf and make Pinheiros Altos a must play course when visiting the Algarve.
The Pines signature hole is the ninth, a beautiful Par 3 over a valley to a McKenzie green while the par 5 fourth hole is the epitome of ‘risk and reward’ golf course design. On Corks loop, many regards the eighth hole, a PAR 5 double dog leg of 580 yards as the most dangerous on the course and responsible for the destruction of many medal rounds.
The Olives Course was the original back nine and has remained unchanged since the island green eighth hole was constructed in 1995 and became the signature hole of Pinheiros Altos and a must play hole when visiting the Algarve.
San Lorenzo Golf Course was designed by Rocky Roquemore and Joseph Lee in 1988, and since then it has been consistently ranked alongside the best golf courses in Europe. Located around a lake formed by the Ria Formosa, presents exciting golf and stunning views, from the par three 5th where the backdrop is the beach and the sea beyond. The excitement continues at the next two holes which take you past the threatening waters of the Ria Formosa. The sixth hole, a par 4 stroke 1 of 422/399 that plays as a downhill dogleg left but paralleling the beach and ocean, ultimately ending at a well-protected small green. The finish is also particularly strong and entertaining on the opposite side of the Ria Formosa.
The 18 is a par 4 with water down the left side but then the water turns back requiring a second shot over the water to a small green protected by three bunkers. It´s a classic risk and reward finish, which brings the truly magnificent San Lorenzo to a close.
Quinta do Lago Golf, one of the premier golf destinations in the Algarve, continues to enhance its world-class offerings.
