Montecastillo Golf Course is a Jack Nicklaus design, one of the most popular golf resorts in the world and it hosted the Volvo Masters Andalucia for five consecutive years beginning in 1997 when Lee Westwood won the event. La Estancia Golf course was designated before as Melia Sanct Petri. The course was designed by the Dutch architect Alan Rijks and is his first work in Spain. Would not play again. Course poor condition. Very wet and long grass. Greens in poor condition. Signage on some holes not clear and directions. Too many par 3 holes. The bunkers were big and lots of them, I suppose to make the course play a little more difficult. Most bunkers were not raked as there was no rake to use. The complete club needs serious attention.
