Dom Pedro Pinhal Golf Course is a par 72 course and it is actually the second oldest in Vilamoura, dating back to 1976. In 1985 Robert Trent Jones was the one responsible for remodeling Pinhal. As suggested by the name, you will find numerous pine trees, which line most fairways, including some nearer the greens, making this a scenic, pleasant course to play. That's why Pinhal is a great course for the summertime since it has an abundance of shade. In fact, the 2nd hole has a pine tree right in the middle of the fairway, about 64 meters from the front of the green, and, on top of that, you'll have to try and miss the two bunkers that protect it. Hole 6th is a par 4, stroke 2 that will put to the test your accuracy with a narrow fairway and two bunkers on the right, which you will also have to avoid. The 16th hole is a par 5 stroke 1 with an uphill fairway plus a blind drive and second shot, with the added difficulty of two bunkers on each side. The 18th hole is what you call a true card wrecker. It is a difficult par 4 with a fairway that starts uphill, making the green invisible from the tee. The downhill approach with three deep bunkers and a very narrow green entrance is a tricky adventure you'll have to face on this one. Overall this is a long and very strategic course and one where you will have to make use of your best tactics to make a good second shot on most holes – sometimes it is preferable not to land that shot too much in the middle of the fairway in order to make the next one slightly easier. A true challenge this course, anything but boring! Once you've finished your golf, why not head towards Vilamoura center with its bustling marina and a wide choice of restaurants and bars where to hang out with your mates or the family. Away from the marina, you will find Parky's Bar and Chez Carlos Restaurant, renowned establishments in the area among golfers for over 20 years now.

Always enjoy Pinhal despite it playing quite long and challenging - and that's from a 7 HC player who's not too short off the tee. The course condition was very good with a great variety of hole layouts. The challenges come from pine trees in the middle of one or two fairways, or jutting out into a few fairways, and then the greens are very small making it difficult to hit them. If you're on holiday, and not worried about playing to your handicap, go enjoy Pinhal with your buddies or other half!

Pretty, but challenging course. Most fairways narrow and lined with umbrella pines.
Very nice staff and facilities.

Course in great condition in all aspects - greens especially and they were quick. Lovely practice facilities. Pleasant veranda overlooking practice area and course. Great days golf at just under £100 each. ( we didn’t hire buggies - quite a few walks between holes so if you are not up for this then hire them. Pretty flat mainly apart from 2 par 5s uphill).

Interesting/challenging (lots of stone pine trees) course in great condition. Small greens (in good condition and running nice and quickly) are an interesting and different challenge. Excellent pace of play (3hrs), although there were just the two of us and we were first out before a big storm.

Booked a time online with buggy at the course the staff member said they didn't take bookings for buggies on line, they had to phone tee times up to confirm booking.
Tee times did refund me 17 euro due to it being a Twilight booking, thanks

Course in fantastic condition especially the greens, probably the best it has been in the 9 or 10 years we’ve been playing here.
Some of the tees could do with some maintenance to be ultra critical.

Enjoyed the golf course very much. My wife and I are here from Canada for a week and this is our first game ever in Portugal. The large pine trees lining the course framed the fairways beautifully and provided lots of challenges. The greens weren’t super fast but they rolled very true. For a course of this length the greens were relatively small. The green on 10 was crazy small but it was really pretty cool. Overall a fun round!
